Beliefs

Victory Fellowship is a protestant, evangelical, Spirit-filled, non-denominational Christian Church.

We acknowledge as our sole Head and Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior, and the senior pastor as the under-shepherd that Jesus has set in leadership over the church. We acknowledge, as brethren in Christ, all who share in the essentials of this confession.

In Essentials – Unity

In Non-Essentials – Liberty

In All Things – Love

From the time of the Apostles to today, Christians have laid out doctrine (beliefs) in brief, definitive statements. As those who know God, we believe it necessary to set forth in a concise fashion the cornerstone truths of our church as guided by Scripture. Our Statement of Faith summarizes essential Christian beliefs, shows unity in Christ, and guards the church against error.

The Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe.

All who join Victory are required to affirm the Statement of Faith. Once we as members agree to the statement, we are responsible for believing and living in accordance with it. Also, based on this confession, we are committed to honoring God by obeying the two Greatest Commandments, loving God and loving neighbor, and based on that commitment and derived from the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God in Scripture, we profess the following as necessary for living the gospel:

Apostles’ Creed

  1. I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
  2. And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord:
  3. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary:
  4. Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell:
  5. On the third day He rose again from the dead:
  6. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty:
  7. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead:
  8. I believe in the Holy Spirit:
  9. I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints:
  10. The forgiveness of sins:
  11. 1l. The resurrection of the body:
  12. And the life everlasting. Amen.

    Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father. Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the power of Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man; He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; from thence He shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father [and the Son], who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets.

In one holy Christian and apostolic Church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

    St. Patrick’s Creed

    There is no other God nor ever was nor will be after Him except God the Father, without beginning; From whom is all beginning; Who upholds all things as we have said: And His Son, Jesus Christ, whom together with the Father we testify to have always existed; Who before the beginning of the world was spiritually present with the Father;

Begotten in an unspeakable manner before all beginning; by whom were made all things visible and invisible; Who was made man, and having overcome death was received into heaven to the Father: And He hath given Him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and God: In whom we believe, and we await His coming, who ere long shall judge the quick and dead: Who will render to every one according to his deeds, and has poured out abundantly on us the gift of the Holy Spirit, even the earnest of immortality, who makes those that believe and obey, to be the sons of God the Father, and joint-heirs with Christ; Whom we confess and adore—one God in the Trinity of the sacred name.

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. The Lord Jesus Christ is both God and man and is the only one who can reconcile us to God. Each time we partake of communion we remember Jesus lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. In order to receive forgiveness we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and powerful lives in order to help others more effectively. In order to live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water, set our minds on Him and His purpose, and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately gathered us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, strengthen the Church, and share the Gospel with the community in which we live.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has set in the church ministry gifts as He has pleased, and leads and is building His church as the Chief Shepherd and that He appoints under-shepherds to guide, feed, and protect the flock.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised and will rule and reign on this earth. History will conclude as the wicked are judged and the righteous enter a new heaven and a new earth.
